Are you a Nationally Certified Advanced EMT, or Texas Advanced EMT? You could qualify to challenge the first half of our Paramedic Program! Successfully complete the challenge process, and you’ll qualify to enroll straight into the Paramedic 2 Program and save up to $3,700 on Paramedic tuition!
Our accelerated paramedic program is one of very few in existence, and hundreds of Advanced EMTs have chosen it as their top choice so far!
If you’ve held certification in the last 5 years for the certifications listed above, you may also qualify for this program!
This challenging process aims to prove your equivalence to our current students in our AEMT/Paramedic 1 Program.
ONLY Advanced EMTs with extensive AEMT experience and more advanced-level training should apply! Be sure to check the SKILLS LIST at the bottom of this page before applying!
*Tuition* – Normal price of tuition not including sales pricing.
COST OF TUITION FOR PARAMEDIC 1 COURSE CHALLENGE: $500
IMPORTANT! We do not refund the tuition fee for this program in the event of failure! Once you attempt or complete any portion of the challenge testing process (online exam or psychomotor exam), you’re no longer eligible for a refund of any kind. Also, this program allows only one test attempt — we don’t allow re-tests!
However, if an unsuccessful challenge student chooses to enroll in the full Paramedic Program, we’ll let them apply this fee toward that tuition.

HOW TO GET STARTED
Complete Application Online
During signup, you’ll complete the Advanced Placement Application Form, undergo a criminal background check, and set up an EMSTesting.com account. Our accrediting bodies require these steps for all EMT students, and they’re a necessary part of the educational experience PERCOMOnline provides. For this reason, tuition and challenge fees include a $250 non-refundable application fee (only applies if you request a refund before your test attempt).
Once we verify your payment, we’ll email you a link in your “order completed” email to the application form. There, you’ll find instructions for the background check and EMSTesting.com signup, and you’ll submit your information along with the following documents:
- Turn in a scanned copy of your government issued photo ID
- Turn in proof of high school graduation or GED completion
- American Heart Association Healthcare/BLS Provider CPR card
- National Registry Advanced EMT Card / Texas Advanced EMT certification
- If your certifications are expiring within 3 months of intended signup date, you must first renew your certifications before being allowed to test!
- Verifiable Resume outlining Education and Work History
- Must include 3 professional references and their contact details
Schedule Exam
Once the Program Director approves your background check and resume, Admissions will email you a link to schedule your online exam. We give exams on normal business days, with exceptions for holidays, and a LIVE Online Proctor administers them. We offer other test slots at special times, but these carry an additional scheduling fee.
Take Your Exam
You’ll take your exam through EMSTesting with a PERCOM proctor. During your webinar, the proctor will help you set up your EMSTesting account (if needed) and then guide you to the exam. You’ll get your results at the end of the exam.
CAUTION
Curriculum changes over the years have changed what Advanced EMTs need to know in the field. That said, don’t take the Paramedic 1 exam halfheartedly — only attempt it if you feel comfortable in your former education and current abilities. However, if you feel you have what it takes to complete this accelerated paramedic program, sign up now and get ready to take your exam in 1-2 weeks.
SKILLS TEST
Paramedic 1 challenge students will need to attend a Skills Testing session to demonstrate adequate knowledge of the required skills for Paramedic 1. This portion comes after the challenge exam, and you can complete it later in the program.
